The political history of Georgia goes back to the I century A.D. There are a lot of sciencies to study material culture such as archeology, linguistics and some information from written memorials.

Let’s start discussion from the very old days . For a long tine it was acknowledged fact that the very first residents of Caucasus knew a lot about metal. The things found in the ancient burials , prove this fact . We are proud of the fact that the Origin of precious metal was developed from the ancient time . Some excavations in Caucasus are found not only jewelery , but some clothes for women and men as well.

Particularly :gold pins , that were used to pin outer clothes at the breast.

Also men were wearing a lot of glass necklaces and some wide and thin gold bracelets on their wrists . Women kinds of earings, rings necklaces bracelets , pins some of them made of pearl and metal.

Chronicler tells that king Parnavas was hunting in the Velley of Digomi it started to rain and he had from  the heavy rain in the cave nearby and there his dream came true, he found a great number of treasure gold, and silver. During fine night the treasure was being  carried by donkeys. All these helped him to defeat Ozoni with the help of Kuji.

An unknown writer written in the little of  St. Nino tells us about idols in Mtsketa . We  tell that there was a metal man (idol) standing with a gold chain in his breast , gold shoulder – straps on his shoulders, and gold helmed on his head . He had different kinds kind of precious stones as well. On his right a gold man called Gaimi.
